“Woman Stars of the Year” came together at the award ceremony led by Yıldız Holding Women’s Platform. As part of this event, where Yıldız Holding awarded its female employees, who contributed to the culture of equal opportunities globally, the social network “Shine Together” was also launched to share inspiring women’s stories and exemplary practices toward women’s empowerment.

Implementing exemplary global efforts to empower women in the business world and all areas of social life, Yıldız Holding Women’s Platform brought together successful women who inspired equal opportunities at the “Woman Stars of the Year” event.

At the Woman Stars of the Year event led by Yıldız Holding Women’s Platform, which started its activities last year to empower female employees and encourage women’s leadership under the roof of Yıldız Holding, female employees across Yıldız Holding companies were awarded for implementing projects toward women’s development and equal opportunities throughout the year. Among these projects were “Women in Leadership Network” by pladis, “Lady Godiva Initiative” by Godiva, “I’m In ŞOK” by ŞOK Marketler, and “Woman Stars of Agriculture” by Kerevitaş. In addition, projects implemented by Bizim Toptan to attract a skilled female workforce to the retail and consumer goods industries and by Yıldız Ventures to support investment programs in women’s entrepreneurship, and Yıldız Holding’s career development program for its female employees were rewarded.

Mutuş: We work toward empowering women in business life and all areas of social life

As part of the event; Yıldız Holding Women’s Platform Ambassador Begüm Mutuş, Psychiatrist Author Dr. Gülseren Budayıcıoğlu, Lawyer Prof. Nazan Moroğlu, and NGO Volunteer Monik İpekel participated in a panel. In her speech at the panel, Yıldız Holding Women’s Platform Ambassador Begüm Mutuş said: “As Yıldız Holding, we aim to set an example to society in everything we do and gladly take part in all projects seeking to raise awareness about equal opportunities particularly, since the first day.  Last year, we established Yıldız Holding Women’s Platform and built a more corporate and organized structure. Today, we are here at the Woman Stars of the Year award ceremony to reward the good practices implemented at Yıldız Holding for equal opportunities. My heartfelt thanks to our female employees, who inspired us through the exemplary projects and efforts they implemented!” Mutuş added: “Today, we are also delighted to announce the social network “Shine Together” on which we had been working for a long time. Through this social network, we will work toward informing as many people as possible in Türkiye about women’s empowerment, encouraging everyone to take a step to this end, and contributing to a more sustainable future.”

The social network “Shine Together” will feature detailed information about practices and projects implemented under the leadership of Yıldız Holding Women’s Platform, as well as inspiring stories by female employees and up-to-date data, analyses, and reports about equal opportunities and women’s employment in the business world. The platform aims to bring together the almost 30,000 female employees of Yıldız Holding and share their experiences and stories concerning business life to inspire each other. A first in Turkey, this sharing platform will bring together worldwide women with advanced careers for a shared future, enabling them to realize new ideas and projects resulting from this synergy. The platform, available via  www.shine-together.com, will feature the latest articles on the business world.

Female board member rate increased to 22 percent

Established in 2020 to transform the culture of equal opportunities into a more powerful and permanent structure, Yıldız Holding Women’s Platform aims to encourage women’s leadership. Working toward improving women’s representation in business life, and eliminating the obstacles standing in the way of increasing the number of women in executive and mission-critical roles, this platform readdresses such criteria as the female employee rate, female executive rate, female board member rate, and equal work-equal pay rate to impose new regulations. Within a year following the platform’s establishment, the rate of female board members at Yıldız Holding companies increased from 18 percent to 22 percent, with the rate of women who received a promotion across the Holding companies rising to 45 percent.
